We started near the historic ruins then we went to the waterfront for photos. This is one of my absolute favorite engagement sessions from the year. Holly’s dress from Azazie gave me all the heart eyes and was the perfect pop to the green background.

Since Alexandria is a city so near and dear to these two – and they wanted that historic vibe – we met up near the Waterfront and made our way around a couple of blocks and wrapped up near the arena. Their Old Town Alexandria engagement session turned out to be everything Cat wanted: greenery with cobblestone.
Happy March to everyone. Can you believe it? MARCH! Though we were blessed with a mild winter, I still want nothing more to taste Spring weather and know it is here for good. We’ve been spoiled lately with sunny skies and warmer weather as of late, and I hope this trend continues as we march (see what I did there) towards Cherry Blossom season.

What do you and your fiancé do two days before Christmas while you are in town to celebrate with family? You have your engagement session, that is what!
As a Michigan Native – but former Texas resident – I get SUPER pumped when I meet other Michiganders in the DC area. Especially clients. Que Ryan’s message via The Knot. Immediately we struck up a conversation about Michigan – where we lived, where we went to school, how we ended up out this way. […]

I loved my time with McKenzie and Jared and loved the fact they trusted me with some crazy ideas…Like traveling down the ways to the reflecting pool area when that was not a part of the original game plan. We spent sometime around the Memorial before we headed down and found the most gorgeous weeping willow. I’ve seen this tree in a handful of my friend’s images, just never knew where it was! Now it is forever a favorite spot and I can’t wait to take my couple next month there.
What I love the most about this couple is their easy-going mentality when it came to photos; Jasmine told me she already favors those in-the-moment photos. With a mixture of prompts, poses, and jokes for photos, we wandered around the property for different backdrops and opportunities with the residents – the goats, chickens, etc. – the wild turkeys weren’t having it though.

Gosh, can you believe it? Fall is here, but you wouldn’t know it at Julianna and Kevin’s engagement session at the Lincoln Memorial. Good golly, was it another hot one. Shout out to this couple who got up super early to meet me at the steps of the Lincoln for their session with me.
