So far this year, I’ve photographed sunrise engagement sessions at the Lincoln Memorial three months in a row and I will be back next month for my 4th. Speaking of next month, these two are getting married then and this photographer can’t wait.
Just the day before, I was photographing Ben and Jen’s wedding not too far away from this spot, but the morning light gave the difference and those glowy portraits made me swoon. Of course, no Nationals rally happening! That was a huge plus for navigating the city.
I loved my time with McKenzie and Jared and I also loved the fact they trusted me with some crazy ideas. …Like traveling down the ways to the reflecting pool area when that was not a part of the original game plan. We spent sometime around the Lincoln Memorial before we headed down to the Reflecting Pond and we found the most gorgeous weeping willow tree. I’ve seen this tree in a handful of my wedding photographers friend’s images on Instagram, I just never knew where it was nor did I want to ask them! Now, it is forever a favorite spot and I can’t wait to take my couple next month there.
But back to these two…Jared wanted to wear his Marines uniform which made for some silhouette epic shot when the sun finally came up a wee bit more over the horizon. I loved their dressier vibe when they first arrived, then their cozy outfit change.
McKenzie and Jared, I can’t wait for your wedding next month at the Manor at Airmont. You two were a dream to be with. See you very soon 🙂
