Hi there! Thank you for stopping by. Here you will find previous sessions, words of encouragement and possibly a meatball sandwich recipe.

Welcome!

Ryan and Eric | Washington DC Engagement Session | Washington DC

Dec 16, 2019

As a Michigan Native – but former Texas resident – I get SUPER pumped when I meet other Michiganders in the DC area. Especially clients.

Que Ryan’s message via The Knot.

Immediately we struck up a conversation about Michigan – where we lived, where we went to school, how we ended up out this way. But most importantly, she needed engagement photos here in DC since her wedding photographer resides in the Mitten and Ryan wanted a classic DC backdrop.

Shout-out to the midwesterners living in this area; you know this camaraderie to which I speak. You know of the super powers of making friends where every we go or someone complimenting us on our sweater choice and it prompts you to tell that complimenter your entire life story. We are a sweet breed of Americans and grossly underestimated. Let’s face it, we are the cool kids of the US. I’ve loved working with Ryan so much!

Anyway, because the beloved Jefferson is currently under construction, I offered her the Lincoln at Sunrise as an alternative and we went for it. And we had a blast. My first time meeting this couple was a bit rushed because they arrived at the most perfect moment when only a couple of people were hanging around at the top of the Lincoln. This was a unicorn. I hastily greeted them, asked them to put their stuff down, and positioned them on the steps. But we got that shot. And I am so glad we did.

I was a little worried about the weather considering it was early December, but the sun shone and the temperature was perfect.

As usual when photographing around the Lincoln, we walked around the building for a couple of different looks before changing outfits and heading down the Reflection Pool area. At the end of our time together, Ryan and Eric donned their running gear for a couple of more photos. Ryan made that sign with her new Cricut. I’m also a crafter, so this client bond ran deep.

Here are just a few photos from our time together! Ryan and Eric, you guys were so much fun to work with. Thanks for the laughs, Instapot recipes, and going on an adventure with me.
