T’was two days before Christmas, all though the Airmont,
All the creatures were stirring, especially the photographer.

The tables were set with the upmost of care,
Because for a wedding party would soon be there.

My last wedding of 2019 was an absolute blast. The Manor at Airmont was the perfect setting for this Christmas wedding. Think Joanna Gains meets elegant Christmas.

Before the ceremony, we had first looks with bridesmaids, dad, and even a first touch. I’ll shock my photographer friends when I say this, but I love it when couples do not do first looks. I feel like this is a further distinction for couple to take when it is their wedding. First looks do have their perks such as more portrait time, but there is something sweet about that traditional approach.

A first touch is a great option for couples who do not want to see each other before the ceremony. It allows you to ground each other and hear that assuring voice before you say “I-do.” During their first touch, McKenzie and Jared decided to read letters or promise to each other, too.

Despite it being December, this adorable couple decided to have an outdoor ceremony. With warm blankets for every guest – and a hot cocoa bar – guests stayed toasty warm while McKenzie and Jared vowed forever. After the ceremony, we rolled through formal photos and made do with the last bit of light we had for portraits behind the manor in the field.

After the meal was blessed, a very special visitor stopped by….SANTA!!! A week before the wedding McKenzie’s mom emailed me to let me know about the surprise so I can make a mental note. Yes, moms and dads, that is totally okay to do.

McKenzie’s reaction was priceless and I’m not quite certain, but I think a couple of groomsmen made the naughty list. After the first dances, cake cuttings, and bouquet toss, this crew danced till their heart’s desire. Late night snacks came out right before a classic sparkler exit.
