Another 2021 engagement session in the books. Usually, I photograph a bulk of my sessions in the fall, but spring is popular this year and I am not mad about that at all! I feel like we’ve been blessed with a beautiful spring in Northern Virginia which was much needed after a snowy winter. Not to mention a snowy winter in partial lockdown.

Marjan and Andrew met me at Virginia’s State Arboretum (Blandy Experimental Farm) for their engagement session. This is becoming a new favorite as there is no permit required and the scenery is gorgeous. Not to mention May/June greenery is lovely and soft too which makes it perfect for portraits.

Since this couple is getting married in July – and we are so close to their date – they opted for a mini-session. A quick 30 minute portrait time yielded so many beautiful photos and we got a chance to meet each other before the big day. Don’t they look fabulous? If you are wondering what to wear to your engagement session, here is the perfect example of what to wear…Classic neutrals, sport jacket, and dressy but casual.
